Last month, Boating Industry hired a new full-time associate editor, Brent Renneke. He’s been on board for less than three weeks, but he’s already hard at work, interviewing dealers and manufacturers for articles to be published in the coming months, writing for our daily e-newsletter, editing our latest magazine issue and calling Top 100 Dealers about the upcoming application deadline. In the April issue of Boating Industry magazine, I wrote a column sharing my thoughts about the Grow Boating Initiative. In the past few months, I’ve heard from a handful of industry executives who are concerned about certain aspects of the program. Read more >>

As we finish up the Top 100 Dealer evaluation process this week, I find myself inspired. 2009 was one of the worst years on record for our industry, and yet the leaders within the marine dealer body managed to do so much more than survive last year. One of my biggest challenges in life is finding a sense of balance between the different roles I play.
